Debra White Stephens, CFP®
Debra is a Certified Financial Planner (CFP®) who has focused on servicing the needs of small business owners in the Houston area since 1975. Debra’s services include providing both individuals and businesses with financial planning, retirement planning, investments, employee benefits, group and personal insurance, and estate tax planning.*
The needs of Debra’s clients are served through a combination of addressing the facts as well as feelings, goals, and dreams. After creating an efficient financial strategy, Debra remains a client advocate, monitoring product performance and tweaking the plan over time through ongoing review meetings. Her practice is relationship-oriented with the emphasis on the need for each individual to receive personalized planning and a commitment to long-term quality service.
Debra has served as President of the Houston Chapter of the International Association for Financial Planning (IAFP). She has also served as Vice President of the Houston Chapter of the Institute of Certified Financial Planners (ICFP). The organizations merged in year 2000 to become the Financial Planning Association while she served on The Foundation for Financial Planning committee.
Debra is often quoted in the Business Section of the Houston Chronicle. She has contributed to a number of feature articles including “How to Retire at 50” and “Can You Afford to Stay Home with the Kids?” She has enjoyed participating as a guest on several local financial television and radio talk shows. She appeared regularly on local Fox News at Noon at the turn of the Millennium.
Teaching business and economics to junior high school students under the project business program through Junior Achievement of Texas in past years, Debra was actively involved with fundraising for this worthy cause. She is also a current participating member of Unity Church of Christianity.
Debra is an Investment Advisor Representative with Voya Financial Advisors, Inc., member SIPC, a broker dealer and investment advisory firm registered with the Financial Industry Regulatory Authority (FINRA) and Securities Investor Protection Corporation (SIPC), and a Registered Investment Advisor providing financial planning, retirement income planning, investment advice, insurance, and brokerage services.
Debra is married to Dennis Stephens, who maintains an alternative healing health care practice utilizing several modalities including Neuromuscular and Cranio- Sacral Therapy. She has three daughters – Hollye, an elementary school principal is the mother of her grandson, Luke. Noelle is a manager at Republic National Distributing in San Antonio and Aleasha is employed as a Digital Marketing Specialist at the Austin Statesman. Debra’s favorite hobby is tending her Rose Garden comprised of over 100 varieties. She is also a writer and recently published Permission to Rest, a self- help book for women who do too much in 2014. Debra publishes under her pen name, Debra Mae White.
